PRODUCT REVIEW: COLORESCIENCE SUNFORGETTABLE TINT DU SOLEIL, MINERAL FINISHING POWDER AND TOTAL EYE 3-IN-1 RENEWAL THERAPY

Today I am going to talk about a brand called Colorescience, with products designed especially for sensitive post-procedure skin, offering 365-day protection against UV rays and other environmental stressors. The makeup products are made with custom-refined minerals and nutrient-rich ingredients that are bendable while allowing the skin to breathe, and offering both immediate and long term benefits for the skin.

One of my long-time faves is the Colorescience Sunforgettable Tint Du Soleil™ SPF 30. This is a mineral-based lightweight foundation that combines makeup and sun protection into one wonder product. The antioxidant-rich formula blends easily and naturally into the skin, giving it a sheer coverage that is still covering any redness and minor pigmentation, and overall making the skin look more even, flawless and glowing. It can also be built up slightly where required. The foundation also adds intense hydration to the skin - but without ‘drowning' my combination skin, and is water resistant for 40 minutes. I am basically out, and badly need to get hold of a new one for summer.

Then there’s the Colorescience Sunforgettable Mineral Finishing Powder SPF 50. And this lightweight mineral powder is seriously so incredible that it has a permanent home in my handbag during summer. The powder provides instant UVA and UVB sun protection, and leaves the skin with a matte finish and a barely-there feel. The powder is free from talc, harsh chemicals, perfumes, alcohol and dyes, this safe, non-irritating mineral powder, contains pure pharmaceutical grade minerals that refract both light and heat, keeping the skin cool and protected all day.

I love its unique self-dispensing retractable powder brush makes this sheer formula, easy to apply and re-apply throughout the day, and hence why it lives in my handbag, as it allows me to both keep my skin protected in the sun, while keeping that t-zone shine at bay at the same time, and all while not clogging up my pores or make my makeup look cakey.

Finally, there’s the Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF 30. It promises to help to visibly improve the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles, restoring the skin and adding intense hydration, all while protecting the delicate eye area against photo-aging with 100% SPF 30 mineral sunscreen.

The eye cream contains among others;
  • Actineyes - A combination of sea water and marine microalgae that helps minimise the appearance of skin laxity and under-eye bags.
  • Aldavine™ 5x - to help to minimise puffiness around the eyes and reduce pigmentation that causes dark circles
  • Phytomoist, with natural, plant based hyaluronic acid and betaine, to add hydration and overall suppleness to the skin and helps maintain water balance Beautifeye™ - to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet, and minimise the fold of the upper eyelid for a smoother appearance, and correct discolouration to fade dark circles
  • SYN-EYE®: - a blend of peptides and vitamins to improve the appearance of under-eye bags, dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness

The eye cream comes with an applicator tip, which makes it easy to apply, by simply dotting a small amount around the eye and either using the cooling applicator to blend it in, or alternatively your fingers. Personally I really love using the applicator as I find it somewhat relaxing too, and find the cooling sensation also helps reduce puffiness.

The eye cream is to be used morning and evening, and it has a slightly peach/beige tone, that blends into the skin invisibly, but helps immediately brighten and reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness for a fresher appearance.

It is light and absorbs quickly into the skin, and works perfectly under makeup too.

And after using this for a month or so, I can definitely see that my eye area looks firmer and more well rested, with dark circles and puffiness less noticeable too I also love that it is tinted and has an immediate effect, and that it has added SPF, which sadly not may other eye products seem to.

It doesn’t come cheap, but it is concentrated so you do only need a little, but I will be sad the day it runs out.
