HALLOWEEN ON A BUDGET WITH THE REJECT SHOP

Image
Keeping up with all the traditions and events that kids like, from easter, Christmas, along with Halloween, can become a costly affair. But thankfully when it comes to Halloween, the Reject Shop is always a one stop shop and has you covered this year, and without it costing a fortune.  The Reject Shop simply has everything you’ll need, whether you want to dress up, decorate the house with spooky and fun decorations the kids will love, bake some treats, or simply need some delicious confectionary for the family to enjoy and for any trick-and-treaters! My boys think these Evil Eye Balls are so super fun, and they’ve loved hiding them in the lolly or pop corn bowl to give everyone a little scare. Oh the giggles!!  And how cool is this huge orange Trick-or-Treat candy bowls - perfect for all the treats for family and friends. The Reject Shop also has an enormous range of confectionary - including all your usual favourites from Allen’s, Trolli, Starburst, M&Ms, and Cadbury, all at perma

KIDS BOOK REVIEW: WHITEBEARD BY M.C.D ETHERIDGE

My big almost 6 year old only started prep at school at the beginning of this year, and he is so loving learning to read, recognising words, and cannot stop spelling words he sees, anywhere he goes. And as a mum, I really love that. He has such an appetite for learning and he so cannot wait till he can read full books. We were sent the M.C.D Etheridge Whitebeard book * to read - and aimed at kids aged 8-12, he is naturally a tad little to be able to read it by himself, so for the past few weeks we’ve been reading it as bedtime story, and everyone have been enjoying it. The Whitebeard book has been written my M.C.D. Etheridge, who is a journalist and TV producer for SKY News, ITN, ITV, Channel 5, and Australia’s Channel 9, and it has been beautifully illustrated by Olivia Ong. Whitebeard is a fantasy novel about a world where where Santa Claus was a pirate, and where in reality, Saint Nicholas is not only the patron saint of children, but of thieves and sailors too. In the book you join

PRODUCT REVIEW; EASTER TREATS WITH THE PJ MASKS

Image
Can you believe it, Easter is just around the corner. A quarter of the year gone already. Feels we’ve barely gotten rid of the last leftovers of Chrissy snacks, and we’re loading up again! And as all kids, my two boys couldn’t be any more excited.  That said, believe it or now, I only two weeks ago threw away a handful of Easter eggs from last year. My boys never actually get that many, for the pure reason, that they don’t really eat that much. A small piece and they’re satisfied, and they don’t ask for more. A standard sized bunny would last them two weeks! But if we’ve got blue berries or strawberries in the fridge, they’ll constantly ask for more. As a mum, I couldn’t be prouder. They’ve got a taste for the healthy, and know what is ‘a sometimes’ food.  But that said, they will naturally get a few Easter eggs, and do a hunt for them around the house or garden, kids still gotta be allowed to be kids, right, but in stead of ‘loading them up too much’, I do love to spoil with a few no

BOOK REVIEW: PENELOPE'S PLAYGROUND BY PIXI AND ROXY JACENKO

Image
My big boy has just started school, and at that age, more than ever, it is important that the children learn that it is ok to be different, and to accept and understand that. And the new book written by Roxy Jacenko and her daughter, Pixi Curtis, Penelope's Playground* is the perfect story book to read out to children, and help them understand how important it is to be kind to each other, regardless of how you look.  Penelope's Playground is about Penelope, who is a little different to the other kids. Penelope loves dressing up in fun clothing that is a little different, with polka dots, stripes, all different types of patterns. She simply loves being bright and cheerful, and the kookier the better!  But not everyone understands Penelope's unique and different style, and when a new girl arrives at school, picking on Penelope’s style, the usually bright and happy girl is sudden feeling sad and afraid to go to school, and her world comes crashing down. All it takes is a sing
